Life can be so hectic sometimes; there’s so much to do, so many people to meet and so many places to go. On top of that, we’re under pressure to deliver our best while being our best.
What a task!
Rest assured. If there’s one thing I’m good at, it’s looking decent at short notice.
How do I do it?
Simple, I use small tricks to give the illusion that I’ve tried to look good. Here are my favourite tips to look flawless without trying. You can mix and match as you desire or go with just one tip!
Just doing your brows can really make a difference. Eyebrows frame the face and dramatically change your whole vibe. I like to make my eyebrows bolder, but still natural using Maybelline’s Browdrama.
Of course, you can use any product that works for you and if you are blessed with particularly luscious brows (I see you!), a simple brushing will suffice.
Now I hear you, ‘Eyeliner, really? Do you know how long it takes to do a perfect cat eye?’.
Don’t worry, all you need is a small flick. That’s it! A little flick does a great job of emphasising your eyes and gives the impression that you spent a ton more time than you really did!
If you really want to make a statement, try a liner in a bold colour like blue or purple.
I know it’s not makeup but I just had to include this tip. Accessories are often ignored but I tell you now, a pair of statement earrings and you’re set, even with no makeup on.
The key is to use accessories around your face such as earrings, bold hair accessories, a cute necklace- you name it. These add interest and give the eye a little something to focus on. If you’re feeling it, you can also wear your favourite rings to complete the package.
4. GLOSSY LIPS
Glossy lips are so versatile; they can be cute, sexy or super chic.
My favourite way to pull this off on the regular is by using a sparkly gloss (this is my current fav from Kiko Milano) without a coloured base underneath.
For a sexier look, update your classic red lip with an almost vinyl-like sheen.
5. A WASH OF EYESHADOW
This is my secret tip- a wash of eyeshadow, close to the natural pigmentation of the skin around your eyes. Weird, but it does the trick.
The best way to pull this off is to use a tinted moisturiser or a tad of foundation to even out your skin tone and with an eyeshadow, mimic the natural colour of your eyelids. Run a little of the same shade on your lower lash-line and finish with a touch of super black mascara. To up the ante, use a shadow with a little sparkle.
So that’s how I manage to get a little more time in bed every morning and still look polished. These tips work regardless of where you’re going; school, work or coffee with the squad. Hope these help you guys catch a bit more of a break in the mornings. Comment if these helped you and if you have any tricks you love, let me know!
